Jang is a packaging project featuring traditional Korean sauces such as Gochujang, Doenjang, and Ganjang in a retro style with fun characters.
Background
The Jang packaging project features classic Korean sauces – Gochujang, Doenjang, and Ganjang – in a retro style. With deep ties to Korean culinary traditions and fermentation in Jangdokdae earthenware pots, the goal is to introduce authentic Korean flavors through a charming, vintage design. Jang's cute and nostalgic packaging serves as a visual gateway, making traditional Korean sauces accessible and appealing to a broader audience, all while preserving their cultural significance.
Character & Color
For the packaging design, I used the 'Motter Ombra' font and added three characters inspired by Jangdokdae's shape. To keep a cool retro vibe, I picked muted colors like red, green, and yellow. It makes the design look nice and ties everything together.
