Nameless is a special fashion brand to honor the sacrifices made by numerous nameless heroes in the Korean independence movement.
Mission
During the period of 1910 to 1945, Korea was under the rule of the Empire of Japan. However, there were many Korean independence activists who fought anonymously to regain their nation from the Japanese military. Eventually, after a long struggle, Korea was able to gain independence from Japan. The 'Nameless' Brand project aims to pay tribute to these unsung heroes of the independence movement, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of a free Korea, a country that many people may have forgotten, rather than just celebrating the few well-known independence activists.
Animation
When someone visits the Nameless website, they will see a brief video explaining the brand’s purpose. The video discusses the history of Korea during Japan’s occupation and highlights the unnamed independence activists who are the inspiration behind the brand’s mission. By watching the video, consumers can learn about this important aspect of Korean history and how it relates to the Nameless brand.
Color
White symbolizes purity, Gray signifies impartiality, and Black is associated with power. It is also reminiscent of black-and-white pictures from the past. The connection to black-and-white pictures from the past not only aligns with historical imagery but also emphasizes the timeless nature of the struggle and sacrifice.
Logo
The logo is inspired by a name tag, but there’s no name on it. This is to honor the many nameless Korean independence activists who gave their lives for Korea’s freedom from Japan. They’re remembered through this logo as an important part of Korean history.
